Its charms begin with the amber color and continue with the well-formed foam, proceed to the complex canvas of aromas from ripe fruits, dark fruits, spices, cumin, vanilla, burnt sugar, and end in the richness of flavors from citrus fruits, herbs, spices, and caramel. It is creamy and pleasantly bittersweet. Its character is mainly due to maturation in wooden barrels.

Its production is controlled as required by the law for Trappist beers by the monks. In 1991, La Trappe Quadrupel was released, in 2003 the White Trappist, and in 2010 La Trappe Quadrupel aged in barrels was developed. La Trappe Quadrupel is best enjoyed at 10-14 degrees Celsius.
