Description

The chain wear indicator shows the condition of the rear chain. It can be used to check chains from 12 to 21 teeth.

Procedure:

  • With the chain in position on the chainring, place the indicator with the ball between two teeth on the upper side of the chain.
  • Remove the last link of the chain from the chainring with a force of 100 N or 10 kg, pulling the tool in the direction of rotation of the chain.
  • Remove the last link from the chain.
  • If it comes off easily, the chain is in good condition. Conversely, if the link overlaps the adjacent tooth or requires force to remove, the chain is worn out and should be replaced.
