I replaced the screen on my phone (SM-A505FN/DS). The old one still responded to touch but had stopped displaying anything in 2023 (the well-known issue with Samsung phones where the screen gradually turns purple and then black), and it worked perfectly.

It was very convenient that it came with a frame too, so I simply moved all the circuit boards, sensors, and stickers to the new frame.

When Adaptive Brightness is enabled, it makes the screen very dim, so at least I turned it off to make the screen brighter. The system probably calculates the brightness for an AMOLED display, which is brighter.

The fingerprint sensor does not work because there is no hole beneath the screen at the sensor’s location (the description also says that it does not support fingerprint recognition).

Everything is displayed clearly, just like on the original screen. The only difference is that the black looks slightly blue when viewed from the sides, which makes sense because it is TFT and not AMOLED like the factory screen.

I’m giving it 4 stars because double-tapping to turn on the screen does not work, and I have to keep pressing the power button.

I’ve also uploaded pictures showing what the old screen looked like before it went black and what the new one looks like.

Overall, though, it does the job.
