The Maxel SeaLion reel stands out for its strong and rigid construction, which incorporates a one-piece fully machined aluminum frame. Advanced heavy-duty anodizing technology provides an extremely corrosion-resistant finish, protecting the body from seawater wear. In addition, it features an extremely strong cold-forged aluminum spool and durable side plates, while the reel foot is made of stainless steel with a special anti-corrosion coating for maximum sturdiness.

Inside the reel, the most advanced drag technology is at work. The dual Carbon Drag braking system (made in the USA) with carbon fiber discs offers an absolutely smooth and consistent operation, even when the surfaces are wet, significantly outperforming standard reels. The redesigned lever drag system provides precise and stable adjustments for every line and leader setup. It delivers impressive braking power with 10 kg in the Strike position and reaches up to 15 kg in the Full position.

SeaLion is equipped with 8 oversized sealed ball bearings and 2 one-way stainless steel ball bearings (8+2) for silky-smooth operation. The heat-treated high-precision gears ensure tremendous resistance to stress, while the 5.8:1 gear ratio provides a fast line retrieval of 98 cm per crank. With a total weight of 518 g, PE3/400 m capacity, 98.5 mm handle length, and a high-ergonomics handle, it guarantees comfort and complete control in the most demanding battles.
