Hoya shepherdii - The beloved "String Bean Hoya"! This climbing epiphytic vine has long, narrow, dark green leaves that strikingly resemble beans, hanging lightly in cascades. It is one of the most productive Hoyas - producing clusters of fragrant white-pink flowers with burgundy centers many times a year. It is easy to care for, drought-resistant, and ideal for hanging baskets. It originates from the foothills of the Himalayas. Non-toxic to pets!

  • Lighting Conditions: Ideal light is as bright as possible but indirect. It tolerates light levels from medium to bright, with generous light enhancing flowering.
  • Watering: Allow the soil to dry almost completely between waterings and then water thoroughly. It tolerates drought due to its succulent leaves.
  • Soil: Requires a fast-draining and well-aerated substrate. A mix of orchid bark, perlite, and potting soil is recommended.
  • Temperature: Able to withstand temperatures from 10-27°C, with optimal growth around 18-24°C.
  • Humidity: Average household humidity is generally suitable, but higher humidity encourages better growth.
  • Fertilization: Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer at half strength monthly during the growing season (spring-summer).
