The Fritillaria imperialis 'Aurora' (also known as Crown Imperial) is a perennial bulbous plant. The bulb size 20/22 (circumference in centimeters) is considered Extra Large (XL). Large bulbs ensure rich, strong growth and flowering.
It bears large, bell-shaped flowers with a vivid orange-red color, hanging in clusters. The height reaches up to 90-100 centimeters and it blooms from mid to late spring (April - May) for about 2-3 weeks.
It is planted in autumn (September to November) in spots with full sun or light partial shade, at a depth of about 15-20 centimeters (3 times the height of the bulb) and a distance of 20-30 centimeters.
- Critical Planting Tip: Plant it slightly tilted on the side so it does not retain moisture.
- The bulbs emit a distinctive smell that naturally repels rodents.
