Description & Specifications

"Alice" is not a book for children. Wonderland (or the Land of Paradox) is essentially the land where nonsense reigns. A term untranslatable into Greek, where the closest rendition could be: the absurd or the insane. "Alice" is a book about children, specifically prepubescent girls. "I love all children, except boys," the author writes in one of his letters. Perhaps that's why he transforms a male baby into a piglet in the sixth chapter of the book.

Utilizing his role as a mathematician and his talent as a storyteller, L. Carroll embarks on a charm offensive aimed at enchanting every little Alice. His fairy tale systematically violates the established logic of adults, approaching and flirting with the irrational way that young children often think and react. He uses allegory, his scientific knowledge inverted and sprinkled with abundant humor. The chapter "The Mad Tea Party" is a treatise on the concept of Time. Written by a fervent pedophile, Alice, if that term had not taken on the negative connotation that society has given it, is both an intellectual game and a text permeated by a sensual aura. The important thing is that little Alice, along with the reader, has become accustomed to only unusual things happening to her, which remove the routine of life and give events meaning. I would say, it resembles a guide to life both for the characters and for the reader.
