Description

The LD Systems PPA 2 is a very compact analog phono preamplifier that equalizes the extremely low output signal of conventional turntables to RIAA standards. It allows you to connect to devices without a phono input, such as mixers, PA power amplifiers, or sound cards.

The phono inputs are designed as RCA sockets, as are the line outputs. The PPA 2 also has a screw terminal for the turntable's grounding conductor and a 6.3 mm stereo jack for connecting headphones. The preamplifier's THD factor is below 0.05% and the channel separation is -75 dB.

    Very good product, nothing extreme, it just does its job well... I got it to connect my turntable to the Soundblaster Kratos s5 speakers, all good! I just wish there was an on-off switch, but it's okay for the price, it's complete. I should mention that I'm not an expert to know more things, I just look if it does my job.

    I don't understand the issue with grounding that the friend below is talking about. Grounding is done on the preamplifier where the RCA cable from the turntable is connected.

    It does what it promises. For a budget system, it will do the job, but only up to a certain point.

    Pros:
    Satisfactory sound
    Headphone output

    Cons:
    The grounding of the amplifier goes nowhere. If checked with a multimeter, it will be evident that the grounding is on the paint, plus it is not properly grounded as it is connected to a simple dipole.

    To solve the grounding issue, I have pulled a cable from the socket grounding to the connector, and the speaker buzz has been further reduced
