I did my job quite well. The first star is for the disc input, I expected it to hold the disc more securely.

  • Functional, beautiful, user-friendly, and relatively fast. The downside is the length of the USB cable. You may need an extension cable

Very nice product, with good construction... but completely unreliable. Tested on Windows 7 Ultimate and Windows 10 Pro, the device is not properly recognized by the PC, either on a USB 2 port or a USB 3 port. The company does not provide drivers for this product and essentially relies on Windows to install drivers.
Unfortunately, it fails to work when needed. It suddenly works at times, while other times Windows does not recognize it, resulting in constant unsuccessful attempts to read the disk until I turn it off.
I don't know how it performs when connected to Apple computers, but in Windows it is better to avoid it at all costs.

So far (2 weeks of sufficient use), it works perfectly. No problem. The cable (usb) is a bit small but that's a minor issue.

Until this moment that I am writing, I am satisfied with my purchase. You are a dock that I could see any disk I put on it normally (128gb - 4tb+). I have worked with it for whole days to seed, it didn't present any problem or disconnection. I also tried hot plugging and it seems to work normally without any error when I insert the disk again. I hope it will last at least these 2 years of warranty.
The only negative thing is that both cables are very short. I can understand the length of the USB cable, but the power cable's length is unimaginable, since I have it on the computer which is on the desk and I had to put a power strip on the desk because it didn't reach the desk.

The product, beautiful and fast (copying 3,904 video files from a 3TB hard drive to a 4TB hard drive at a rate of 136,000 kbytes/sec), is small and nicely constructed, but it is unjustifiable for the company to skimp on the cable. Both the power cable and the USB cable are quite short. Okay, you can't really say that the power cable is too short, but the USB cable is simply terrible. In order to be able to connect to both power and USB, I have placed the icy box on top of the speaker next to the monitor and the central unit because the USB cable was not long enough for the device to reach the desk. Essentially, I had to divide the distance in order to be able to connect both.

Before purchasing it, make sure that the location where you will place it is close to the outlet and consider buying a longer cable.

4 stars solely for the cables being small.

Construction from cold aluminum that functions perfectly as passive cooling (i.e. without a fan). Very good ergonomics with soft rubber on the base to prevent movement. Smart cover that adjusts to both 3.5" and 2.5" disks. The included USB cable is sufficient to cover the minimum distance of "desk > computer on the floor," but for anything more, a USB 3.0 extension may be needed. Very good value for money.

I had a usb 2 docking station. I bought this and the recordings on a WD black 500GB were made at speeds of 55-95MB/s. I think it's a good speed for recording on a hard disk.

    Features:
    +speed
    +small size, convenient shape
+has a grip underneath to prevent slipping

    -short USB 3 cable.

It does what it promises and I think it also has a nice appearance.
WD 4TB GREEN transfer from/to SSD achieves 80MB/s Write and 90MB/s Read.

Update 05/2023: I am looking to buy a dual docking station and I am checking the specs of the ones I find here on Scroutz. I also checked this particular one, which I have had for many years, on the Raidsonic website and it states that the maximum disk capacity it can read is 2TB. Obviously, this is not true because besides the 4TB ones I had tested when I first got it, today I tested an 18TB hard drive and it reads it just fine. So it is likely that there is no limitation.
