A high-performance zoom lens for use with PENTAX SLR digital cameras, providing exceptional imaging and an F2.8 aperture. By incorporating three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) and four aspherical optical elements, it ensures adequate illumination even at the edges of the photo, delivering images with rich contrast and high clarity. The built-in SDM (Supersonic Motor Direct-drive) unit offers silent, high-speed autofocus operation.

It consists of 17 elements in 12 groups with three ED optical elements, one high-dispersion element, and three spherical elements to deliver very high-resolution images. It produces high MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) and detailed images with high contrast.

When mounted on a 35mm full-frame digital SLR, it offers an approximately 2.9x magnification ratio to cover scenes from wide-angle to medium telephoto. It provides a maximum aperture of F2.8 throughout the zoom range.

Thanks to the built-in ultrasonic autofocus mechanism (SDM), the lens offers silent and smooth focusing operation. It features AW (All Weather) certification with special sealing points that prevent water and dust.

The HD PENTAX-D FA 24-70mm F2.8 ED SDM WR features high-quality, multi-layer lens coating that ensures higher light transmittance and lower reflectivity.

The lens is equipped with the Quick-Shift focus system, which allows the user to switch the focus mode from automatic to manual after focusing on the subject.
