Studies examining the history of a settlement are of interest not only to historians who systematically research the past of the settlement or its wider area, but also to many of its descendants, some visitors (which is why tourist guides include historical information about settlements) and public or private bodies that for specific reasons need to know the local history.
Such studies will also be useful in the future, even if the settlement in question does not progress or becomes deserted.
For some of the settlements in the province of Konitsa, historical information has been recorded in publications that either relate exclusively to each of them or cumulatively to several of them.
In the first category of the mentioned publications, there are books addressing various subjects of only one settlement in the province, totaling about twenty of its settlements.
However, most of the above publications only cover the recent past (they trace back to 1850 at most), have been written by "amateur" historians, and do not cite their diagnostic sources.
