The base is fine, but be careful with the following. If you have a thick mobile phone like me, it's not enough to securely hold the side hooks that hold the phone, and you will be disappointed.. It's something that you can't easily tell from the photos. Luckily, I had kept the old base and connected it to the new one. Other than that, it's fine, the suction cup is very good, and the whole mechanism can be adjusted as you want, either on the dashboard or on the window.
