The worst multifunction printer I have ever bought...
    1. Constantly disconnects from the network.
    2. Does not print properly.
    3. Using genuine HP ink and still the prints are terrible, even though I have cleaned the heads and done alignments...
    STAY AWAYYYYYYYYYY...

First of all, I have to say that I bought the machine for professional use. I found that the ink runs out very quickly and the consumables are quite expensive. Copying from scanning, whether it is for printing or saving as a PDF, is excessively slow. Also, I have to mention that A3 papers do not fit easily in the tray. It is also unacceptable that initially the machine had a problem with printing in A3 as it couldn't reproduce certain lines. I researched it and by manually downloading a specific upgrade from the hp website, the problem was fixed. However, I had to search for it and have some knowledge, while one would expect such problems to be solved for such an expensive machine.

Guys, the machine is a star for its price, although the consumables are a bit expensive, but it's okay. Of course, like everything else, it has become much more expensive, as a few years ago the same machine was priced at 200 euros. BUT the machine is almost identical to the 7720, which you can find for about 80 euros less. The main difference between them is that the 7740 has two trays, for A4 and A3, but the difference is that in order to use A3, you have to make an adjustment to the tray, resulting in it protruding and being both functionally and aesthetically bad. If you have a heavy printing load with switching from A3 to A4, get the 7740, but if you only need A4 and a few A3, go for the 7720. I will also upload photos for us to have a visual image.

Very difficult to install. It always directs you to HP smart, which requires an account to use. Not ideal for a professional environment. The WiFi is not stable at all. The HP software is mediocre, and installing applications for scanning outside of HP smart requires a lot of patience. I would not recommend it for any reason, especially in a professional environment. The only positive is printing in A3 and the relatively low price.

Difficulty connecting to the network and constant disconnections. The documents are usually scanned incorrectly. The PANACRIVA ink cartridges run out very quickly. It does not accept any other company's products. I have destroyed it, with every new set of ink cartridges you have to buy it again!

I have had it for 3 years, problems started from the second year.
First with the wifi, I have to restart it 2-3 times a day to find the network. It takes 1 minute to make a copy and on a daily basis it gives me a blue screen and requires a restart again.

It connects, prints, scans, etc... Everything it should do. The 3 stars go to the expensive ink cartridges, which run out quickly even the XL ones, and every time they run out, you have to buy the printer again with today's prices (22/10/22) - around 160 euros to get all 4. Also, the printer makes sure to consume all the ink even if you only print in black. In scanning, it often wrinkles the papers, especially if they are not completely straight, or it gets stuck. When it doesn't get stuck, about 2 out of 5 times the page will be upside down even if you have placed the guides correctly. Finally, the application from the Microsoft store often crashes after several scans and you have to start over. The application, which is not from the Microsoft store, is stable and does not crash.

It really worth the money so far, for A3 it's unbeatable!!! Its cartridges are 4 and they cost 90 € for the compatible ones (I haven't used them) and the genuine ones cost 130€ to 160€. The price differs if you buy 1 (one) or some package offer, all together that is.

I have it for 1.5 years, I won't go into details that have already been mentioned or spoken about, it is exactly what they write, but I want to point out that its ink cartridges are VERY EXPENSIVE!! At the moment, the HP series has 142 cartridges and the compatible ones cost 48€!! That means that on the 3rd change, you easily recovered the cost. Until now, I only used HP cartridges, but in the 3-4 changes per year that I needed, we're talking about 550-600€!! Now, I'm switching to compatible ones and whatever happens! When I find a good company, I will recommend it.

The serious problem is that it produces vertical lines in printing and copying images. After 6 months of trouble with HP technical support and after they brought me a refurbished and new one (I had three machines in the office) and after numerous tests and adjustments, it was never fixed. The official response was that the problem lies in the fact that I don't use photographic paper and optimal print quality, not that the machine is defective. I lost productive hours from my work with phone calls to get this answer. Obviously, I am not a photographer to use photographic paper. I am an engineer and I need it to print photorealistic images on plain paper. Also, its scans from the feeder come out crooked. If you don't need image printing or many scans, it is satisfactory for its price

Top machine in its category. Truly "ALL IN ONE": Double-sided printing A4 and A3, scanning A3, double-sided scanning in A4 only, fast, good build quality, easy wifi connection, and very economical, especially with HP's promotional energy, costs 169.00 euros including VAT! Expensive inks, but you can use compatible ones, which are cheaper as long as you disable automatic updates. The only problem is that when scanning from the feeder, it produces slightly skewed scanned files (pdf or jpeg). That's why it doesn't receive 5 stars.

Really worth its money (199,00€), it has no rival. I don't know if there is anything else on the market with an A3 scanner. Double-sided printing, independent color inks, dual tray, tilting screen for easy reading... what else can you ask for at this price?
Furthermore, it is a beautiful machine, a real gem in the office.
I deducted one star for the (traditionally) difficult and cumbersome HP menu... I suppose you can't have it all in this life.
    ------------------------------------------------------------
    Update:
After 5 years of moderate use in an office and with non-genuine inks, it still works flawlessly.
OK, color photo prints on plain paper are not its strong suit, but otherwise it's a beast!
Even at the current price, which has increased by +80€, it is a worthwhile purchase

I only use it for scans (A3 and double-sided documents that it does automatically) and I am completely satisfied! I have no opinion on printing, I prefer to print on an A4 laser. I'm afraid the cost of ink will be high compared to laser. However, for scans, it is very good!

    2. Super Scan A3.
    3. Excellent print quality (A3 and A4 double-sided).
    4. 2 trays (A3 and A4) with high paper autonomy.

I have a local network with many computers, on the first computer that I installed it on, everything went well and easily. On the second computer, I had some difficulties because it had a redirect loop on the HP website and I couldn't finish the installation. With some help from HP support, everything is fine now. It seems to have a good and sturdy construction, with very good print quality and a good scanner and fax. For its price, plus a partial refund and a 3-year warranty from HP, it is a big value for money! The ink cartridges all together cost around 110 euros, but they seem to last a long time! It takes the 953XL series for color and the 957XL for black after the upgrade!

When I bought it, I had Win7 Pro. The drivers were for Win10. I upgraded to Win10 and it's been a nightmare. It only prints from PDF. I couldn't manage to print from Word, Excel, or AutoCAD. I have installed the drivers multiple times via USB and WiFi, but it's the same. I'm waiting for an update because it's a very good and affordable A3 scan print machine

We bought it for a small office but we regretted it because of the ink!
    1. It runs out quickly (500-600 pages in black and white).
2 (and most importantly) YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PRINT IN BLACK IF ANY COLOR HAS RUN OUT!!!

    UNACCEPTABLE!!!

From the best choices at this price.
It is very fast with good print quality and many capabilities.
It prints and scans up to A3 and has an automatic double-sided feeder.
It has the ability to automatically print and send emails to a specific address.
It would be good to have a sturdy base (table), because the mechanism is powerful and if it is not sturdy it wobbles!

Quite useful is that after the purchase, HP offers a €30 cash back and extends the warranty to 3 years! The offer is valid until 31/10/2018.

Very good printer, the only downside is the wifi where I have to set it up every time.. it's annoying to the point that it can't handle 3 stars from me

    1. Double side scan A4 with one pass (you won't find this price anywhere else.)

  • The worst multifunction printer I have ever bought...
    1. Constantly disconnects from the network.
    2. Does not print properly.
    3. Using genuine HP ink and still the prints are terrible, even though I have cleaned the heads and done alignments...
    STAY AWAYYYYYYYYYY...

  • First of all, I have to say that I bought the machine for professional use.
