Description

Digital clamp meter Benning CM 5-1 for:

  • automatic selection of the correct TRUE RMS measurement function for voltage / current (AC / DC), resistance, continuity, and diode test
  • safe and easy operation - measurement errors due to incorrect range selection are excluded
  • short response time due to 5 scanning values per second
  • voltage measurement with low input impedance (LoZ) to suppress induced capacitive/inductive voltages
  • multifunctional and powerful measurement with TRUE RMS method for industrial applications
  • ensures measurements up to 600 A AC / DC
  • higher measurement method CAT IV 600 V, allowing direct measurements at the low voltage installation source
  • backlit LCD display

Industrial environments require TRUE RMS measuring instruments!

Non-linear loads resulting, for example, from motors with adjustable speed, frequency converters, or power supplies for office equipment and LED lamps create reactive power in the network. As a result, multimeters and clamp meters that operate with the so-called average measurement method ("RMS") will display the measured values with reduced accuracy.

In many cases, and especially in industrial environments, it is therefore absolutely necessary to use state-of-the-art "TRUE RMS" measuring instruments. The "TRUE RMS" measurement method accurately indicates the true value of an alternating current - regardless of whether the waveform of the current signal is sinusoidal or distorted.
