Make the perfect Christmas card
A greeting card can always lift your spirits and evoke emotions, especially if it's a Christmas card. Even if you can't accompany it with a gift, the recipient will appreciate it just as much, if not more, especially if it is written with love.
Many say that Christmas is a commercialized holiday where everything is done for shopping and purchases, without looking beyond the material goods and the symbolism of each gesture. Perhaps many times we forget the essence of Christmas and do not focus on what it truly is, which is magic, love, and humanity.
But how can you create the perfect Christmas card?
The first step you need to take is, of course, to choose the Christmas card you want. Choose the corresponding design, think about who the card is intended for, what you want to write on it (a wish, a letter, etc.), and whether you want it to include an envelope or not.
If you want the card you give to be entirely your own personal creation, you can make it yourself. Let’s see what you’ll need in this case:
- 1 thick paper or cardboard sheet
- 1 pair of scissors
- 1 glue stick
- Markers or pens
- Christmas stickers
For the layout, use a ruler so you can cut your cardboard to the dimensions you want. Then fold it in half and little by little your card will take shape.
On the front side, you can draw something related, such as a Christmas tree, Santa Claus, or a snow globe. If drawing is not your strong point, you can stick on a sticker or make some crafts with crepe or velvet paper, especially craft sheets and glitter. And... your card is ready!
Let's now see what you can write in a Christmas card, always keeping in mind who it is intended for.
If it is for a loved one, such as your parents or siblings, you can write something beautiful that characterizes your relationship, express your support and love for that specific person, and end with a lovely dedication, such as "To the best dad in the world, with love".
If the card is for your other half, then you just need to express your feelings with phrases that only the two of you can understand, inside jokes and nicknames that you might call each other.
If it is intended for a friend of yours, you can use a more casual tone, remind them of situations that brought you closer over the past year, express your love and gratitude for your friendship, and say things that you might not say in everyday life.
If, now, you are going to gift it to a colleague or someone with whom you do not share personal and friendly relationships, the tone can be more formal and concise. This may mean wishes such as:
- "Merry Christmas with health and love to you and your family"
- "Warm wishes for a year filled with new experiences and opportunities" etc.
Finally, just like a gift needs its wrapping, the card you send this Christmas needs an envelope to be delivered to its recipient, whether it is handed over in person or sent via a courier service.
Whoever this card is ultimately addressed to and whatever writing style you use, remember that love, kindness, and authenticity always win. Write things that come from your heart and be inspired by the person who will receive this card.
Spread love & kindness <3 It's Christmas time!!!
