In his Stories, Theotokis presents us with a traditional, immobile world, a world conditioned by natural needs, within which feelings and impulses intertwine and unleash with violence. The setting is the small, closed, and backward agricultural society of Corfu between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century.
