Scottish heart with a Japanese soul!
Its history begins in 1934 with Masataka Taketsuru, the “father” of Japanese whisky. Choosing a location reminiscent of Scotland’s seaside distilleries, he created a single malt with an alcohol content of 45% that overflows with robustness, depth, and a maritime character. Distillation in traditional pot stills with charcoal provides that unique smoky intensity that makes it stand out.
The perfect balance of smoke and fruit!
This premium single malt achieves the impossible: it combines the gentle intensity of peat with a fruity sweetness. Part of its secret lies in aging in ex-bourbon and sherry casks, which infuse the spirit with notes of caramel, oak, and spices. The result is a masterfully balanced whisky that honors the legacy of its founder.
Explosive aromas that awaken the senses!
Inspired by the legendary Scottish Highlands, Yoichi reveals layered notes of pear, melon, and mango that blend harmoniously with its smoky character. As you enjoy it, hints of chocolate, stewed fruit, and an ocean breeze emerge, leading to a delightful smoky finish that lingers indelibly on the palate.
The last “guardian” of traditional distillation!
The Yoichi distillery holds a world first: it is the last distillery in the world that continues to use the method of direct coal-fired heating. This rare and demanding technique gives the whisky its unmistakable character and an unmatched depth of flavor that you will not find anywhere else.
A timeless recipe from 1934!
From its founding to this day, Yoichi remains faithful to Taketsuru's vision. The ideal environmental conditions of Hokkaido and the blending of spirits of different ages seal its quality, offering in every bottle the most delightful notes of peat and smoke.
