This book explores the factors of school policy socialization (curriculum, extracurricular activities, textbooks, educators, pedagogical atmosphere and relationships, teaching goals/methods/assessment, student communities, cultural events, visits, field trips, newspapers, websites, etc.) in order to understand how these factors affect the formation of students' political personality and behavior.

The importance of family and the broader society is highlighted: local government, mass media and communication, the internet, peer groups, art, new technologies, etc.
