The days of Christmas are my favorite. Just the warm atmosphere of the house, with the decorated tree, makes me want to stay inside and read as if there's no tomorrow.

In this article, I will give you some book recommendations that I recently read and loved, which are also perfect for gifts, of course!

1) The Boys of Tommen 2 - Keeping 13, by Chloe Walsh

The story starts exactly where the previous book leaves us, and what does that mean?? That we tear up and cry from the first pages ALMOST until the end!

The second book in the series delves much more into the aspect of domestic violence and how it can traumatize the soul of a child (and an adult). At the same time, other important issues are addressed, such as justice, the functioning of the welfare system, and bullying. As you can understand, we are talking about a considerably heavier book compared to the first, with some scenes that truly broke my heart. On the other hand, among all the above, there are moments of real happiness, full of humor and carefreeness, showing that when you have the right people by your side, who will support you in the worst moments of your life, you can continue to try to get through, one step at a time.

A book that shows true selfless love and the strength of the soul. I love this series… "madly, incredibly much".

Τα Αγόρια του Τόμεν, 2: Keeping 13 - Κατοχή

The epic and unforgettable love story that began in Binding 13 continues in Keeping 13.
Falling in love was the easy part. The real test is now…
Since Johnny Kavanagh was injured, he has been living a different life – without his beloved number 13 jersey, he no longer knows who he is and feels lost. Fortunately for him, there is a mysterious girl who haunts his mind.

Shannon Lynch has always been good at keeping secrets. After all, she has realized that bad men don't exist only in fairy tales, but are, in fact, very real. After her traumatic trip to Dublin, she is first and foremost trying to find a way to protect her little brother, and to succeed, she will withdraw into herself once again.

There is only one boy who can pull her out of the darkness she is sinking into. The boy to whom she has given her heart. But what Shannon doesn't know is that the secrets she has kept so well will be revealed, and nothing will ever be the same again.
Will Johnny and Shannon's love endure?

2) Talking at Night, by Claire Daverley

Where are the fans of Normal People? I've found what they should read these days.

I started this particular book without knowing much about it, with neutral expectations and quite an appetite. Within a few pages, I had fallen into a delightful depression!

It's that feeling that some books give you, where the plot may be relatively stable, but the writing is so beautiful and touches you so much that within its melancholy, it also brings out a feeling of calmness.

It's one of those romantic novels that doesn't float on a pink cloud; on the contrary, it's quite realistic (perhaps annoyingly realistic for me, as I'm a romantic soul) and that's why I believe many will love it.

It talks about love, loss, family, and mainly about that eternal journey of searching for what we want to do with our lives and who we are.

It will sadden you and warm you at the same time.

What do you do when the person you need to forget is the only one you can't let go of?

Will and Rosie meet when they are teenagers.

They are completely opposite characters: she is over-analytical, he is the rebellious and unpredictable best friend of her twin brother. However, through secret outings and late-night phone calls, they grow closer – their love story is destined to leave a lasting mark on them.

Until one day, their shared future is shattered. As the years pass, Will and Rosie's paths cross again and again, reigniting each time the spark for what they could have been to each other.

3) The First Lie Wins, by Ashley Elston

Ivy has everything one could want. A stable job, friends, a man who adores her and whom she adores… she is happy. A small problem though - Ivy does not exist.

For anyone looking for something easy to read, that goes by quickly and is also interesting, voila!

Short chapters, flashbacks, twists, simple writing, and a story that keeps you hooked without dragging.

A pretty safe option for fans of the genre, as well as for those who want to read crime without harsh scenes.

It kept me good company and I recommend it!

You meet a stranger at a party.

She looks like you… and she even has your name... Everything she is about to tell them is a lie... Ivy Porter has everything a girl could want: a partner, a house with a fence, friends. The only problem: Ivy Porter does not exist. The first piece of information she is given is the location. She learns everything about the town they will send her to and the people who live there. Then she receives the target's name, Ryan Sumner, as well as the identity she will use for the job. A name. A past. The last piece of the puzzle is completing the mission. But for Ivy, this mission is different. Ryan has stolen her heart, and she has begun to imagine another life, a life where her boss does not pull the strings. But she cannot let herself dream, because the only thing she has strived for all her life, the only identity she could always return to, her real identity, is no longer hers. A woman who looks like her has stolen her name – and wants more. As her past begins to haunt her, can she do something to save her future?

4) Spectacle, by Stephanie Garber

This particular book is magical, truly!

It exudes a warmth that very few books manage to convey and this happens because it is written by the beloved Stephanie Garber, the author of the fantasy series "CARAVAL" and "ONCE UPON A BROKEN HEART."

This particular one is a Christmas novella, meant to be read after the Caraval trilogy, just to transport readers back to this wonderful and unique universe and the characters they loved so much.

The writing remains the same (thankfully) and the edition is a little gem on its own as it is illustrated, bringing each page to life in this way.

Of course, I recommend it, just as I recommend anything the author has written!

Well, unfortunately, Legend doesn't have much of a fondness for the Great Celebration. Tella hopes that her perfect gift will change his mind. Unfortunately, she hasn't found that perfect gift yet. However, it's the Eve of the Eve of the Great Celebration. Surely there must be some festive magic around.

This delightful novella, set in the world of Stephanie Garber's CARAVAL series, will take readers on the ultimate festive adventure, filled with clockwork boys, poisoned sweets, mischievous snowballs, joy, and—if Tella gets her way—love.

With Rosie Fowinkle's wonderful illustrations, the SPECTACLE is the perfect book for collectors, readers, dreamers, and those who love festive magic.

Welcome back to the world of CARAVAL where even the celebrations are not what they seem.

5) Midnight at the Christmas Bookshop, by Jenny Colgan

I won't say much about this one because for me it is a must-read.

It is the second book after my very beloved seasonal novel "THE CHRISTMAS BOOKSHOP," and it takes us back to the wonderful Edinburgh, with its beautiful streets, cozy shops, and warm chocolate.

A very atmospheric novel that talks to us about human relationships, especially family ones, and the power of will & love.

It's perfect for Christmas!

Μεσάνυχτα στο Βιβλιοπωλείο των Χριστουγέννων

The sequel to the bestseller THE CHRISTMAS BOOKSHOP!

Carmen is at a dead end: a tacky Christmas movie is being filmed in her bookstore; she has also been forced to move out of her sister's house, and the love of her life has just left thousands of miles away. It seems like this Christmas won't be good at all!

When an obnoxious millionaire tries to buy the bookstore to turn it into a souvenir shop, Carmen decides to roll up her sleeves to find the money needed to counter his offer.

Time is running out, and Carmen will need more than a fresh coat of paint to solve the problem. However, when the snow starts to fall and the Christmas lights come on, new opportunities will arise…
